How do I get to Otis Place B&B?

            The exact address for the B&B will be provided with your confirmation.  Please be sure to bring your confirmation with you along with

            any driving directions provided.  For the comfort and security of the owners, as well as the guests, we do not publish the

            specific address here.  It is only provided with a confirmed reservation.

            If you are traveling by car, you will be provided with driving directions that will take you from your listed start off point to the B&B.

            If you are traveling from an Airport, Train, or Bus station, there are at least 2 options to travel to our Bed and Breakfast.  Below are

            some of the options to get to/from the 3 airports that service Washington, DC, as well as both Union Station; Washington’s train

            station, and the bus station.

Is off street parking available?

            Unfortunately, only on-street parking by permit is currently available.  Your host will gladly secure a permit for you at no charge with

            confirmed reservations. We ask that all guests secure their car when leaving it.  Avoid temptation and remove all valuables from sight.

What are the normal check-in / check-out times?

         Normal Check In time is between 11AM & 1PM **

           Normal Check Out time is prior to 11AM.

            **NOTE - If arriving after 6PM, please ensure that you contact us advising of such.

How far is the nearest metrorail station from the B&B?

          The Georgia Avenue / Petworth Station is located .3 mile from Otis Place B&B. 

            From the Metrorail main station it will be necessary to transfer from the RED LINE to the GREEN LINE  Normal fare is $1.65 per person.

I’m renting the Lower Level and want to cook some of my meals. How far is the nearest grocery?

            Several groceries are located within a short walk (.2 mile) of the B&B.

                        ** Please note – No meals are included with the Lower Level Apartment as the guest has full use of the apartment’s kitchen.

Can you arrange any local tours for me?

            Yes, the owner can arrange local tours for guests.*   

                - Please advise which tour(s) you would like to take and when.

                 * A nominal fee will be added to the tour's pricing to cover cost(s).

How long have you been in the B&B field?

          The owner has been providing guests with Bed & Breakfast accommodations for 11 years.  In addition to Otis Place B&B, I have operated another B&B here in the Washington area as well.

I’m flying into the local area.  What public/private transportation is available?

       From: Reagan National (DCA) -

• Taxi service to most of the Bed and Breakfast homes in our system is less than $18 for a party of 2
• Metrorail service is available using the blue and yellow lines, connecting to all other lines in the city.
• Supershuttle, a van service with door-to-door service, is $9 per person.

From: Baltimore Washington International (BWI) –

• Taxi service fares are about $75 for a party of 2
• Metrobus provides shuttle service from the airport to the Greenbelt station of the Metrorail. The bus fare is $3 per person.
• Supershuttle fares are $32 for the first person and $10 for each additional person up to 7
• MARC train commuter rail, operating Monday to Friday about 1 every hour. Fares are roughly $6
• Amtrak trains, fares $13-26 one way.

Note: BWI is approximately 35 geographic miles from downtown DC. Expect travel times to range from 1 hour to as much as 2 hours dependent on traffic volume.

From: Dulles International (IAD):

• Taxi service fares are about $75 for a party of 2
• A private company, the Washington Flyer, provides bus service to the West Falls Church station of the Metrorail. The bus fare is $8 one-way, $14 round trip.
• Supershuttle fares are $22 for the first person and $10 for each additional person up to 7.
• Metrobus provides service from Dulles to L'Enfant Plaza. This is the 5A, for a $3 fare.

Note: Dulles is approximately 35 geographic miles from downtown DC. Expect travel times to range from 1 hour to as much as 2 hours dependent on traffic volume.

I’ll be arriving by Train/Bus into the local area.  What public/private transportation is available?

Transportation from Union Station:

• Taxi service from Union Station to our B&B in our system is fast and efficient. Fares in Washington are based on zones, not time and mileage. Otis Place B&B is in the same zone as Union Station.  The base fare is $6.50 for 1 traveler and an additional $1.50 for each additional person.
• Washington's Metrorail, subway provides access at Union Station with the Red line. Otis Place B&B is located within .3 mile of the Georgia Ave. Petworth Station.  Metrorail overview map.  Local station  map

Transportation from Washington's Bus station.

• Taxi service in our system to Otis Place B&B is fast and efficient. Fares in Washington are based on zones, not time and mileage. Most of the B&B's are located within 1 zone, carrying a base fare of $6.50 for 1 traveler and an additional $1.50 for each additional person.

Other arrival/departure points of note:

• If your flights are arriving 7pm or later, we ask that you take taxi service from BWI or Dulles in order to reach the B&B at a reasonable hour. Service by Supershuttle, Bus and Metro, becomes less consistent later in the evening.
• If your arrival has been delayed with later landings or arrivals, please contact your hosts to make them aware.
• Metrorail access is a short walk from the Bus station to Union Station for the Red line.
